Location
The fishing village of  Panormo is located approx. in the middle of the north coast of the island of Crete, 63 kms west of Iraklion and 21 kms east of Rethymnon.
In the village there are shops of any kind, supermarkets, tavernas and kafenions, a post office, a Medical Center and a pharmacy.
They also have a small fishing port which is used by private boats, too.

During recent years, several smaller and bigger hotel facilities have been built along the coast in westward direction from the village center, among others also the Stella Beach Hotel.

|
Below the hotel areal there is a small swimming-bay with a pebbled beach (bathing slippers are recommended). The nearest sandy beach is located approx. 800 meters east of the hotel, short before the village center.
In front of the main entrance there is room for parking, and during the tourism season the local bus to Rethymnon (20 kms) passes by here as well.
The bus stop is 50 meters from the house.

Further up by New National Road is another bus stop in approx. 150 meters distance from where suburban busses during daytime once per hour go to Iraklion (64 kms) as well as via Rethymnon to Hania (77 kms).
Iraklion airport is 70 kms away, Hania airport 84 kms.
With respect to the motor highway's winding character, transfer times from and to the airports must not be underestimated.
